Champagne Néret-Vély is rooted in the Vallée de la Marne. Carole Néret-Marizy and Mathias Marizy combine vine growing with farming. Their vineyards are around a 30-minute drive away — and some soil work between the rows is still done with a horse. Meunier shapes the house; low dosages, indigenous yeasts and ageing in stainless steel, wood, sandstone or ceramic show their independent approach to their origins. This combination of farming roots and a willingness to experiment is precisely why I chose Néret-Vély for Champagner Max.
