Text summary
Goods sold in the EU are covered by a statutory guarantee of conformity for at least two years. Longer periods apply in some countries. For second-hand goods, the period may be shorter, but not less than one year.
If goods do not match their description or do not work as intended, consumers can exercise their statutory rights. Sellers are responsible for a lack of conformity that exists on delivery and becomes apparent within the statutory guarantee period.
These rights include repair or replacement free of charge and, in certain circumstances, a price reduction or a full refund. Notify the seller of the problem as soon as possible and provide proof of purchase.
Voluntary commercial guarantees are separate from these statutory rights. The GARAN example in the official notice illustrates such an additional guarantee; it is not a guarantee offered by Champagner Max.
