Yllen is one of the most intensely fruit-driven rosé Champagnes I have tasted. Its unusually deep red colour hints at what follows: an exuberant, juicy expression of red fruit, carried by fine bubbles and a full-bodied texture.
Bold, generous and impossible to mistake for a delicate, pale rosé — Yllen has a personality entirely its own.
Cuvée Yllen comes from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in the Grande Vallée de la Marne, part of the Vallée de la Marne. The vines are around 40 years old and grow on clay and limestone over Campanian chalk. The grapes are picked and selected by hand.
